A common question seems to be, “What is the difference between the LX model and the LXE model.” A CUSA member (HeyJerr) offers the following:
LXE Model | LX Model |
helmet hangers under trunk | helmet hangers - front of saddlebags |
orange radio lettering | white radio lettering |
raised radio knobs | flush radio knobs |
single vents on front fairing, plus additional vent below primary | single vents on front fairing |
passenger headrest | no passenger headrest |
tape compartment/coin holder on the left top faring (standard) | plain compressor cover on the top left faring (standard) |
map window with compartment on the right top faring (standard) | plain cover for the battery / fuse compartment on the right top faring (standard) |
adjustable air bladder in the seat for the pilot and co-pilot (standard) | adjustable air bladder in the seat for the pilot and co-pilot (standard) |
adjustable 2 position lumbar airbladder for the co-pilot (standard) | adjustable 2 position lumbar airbladder for the co-pilot (standard) |
adjustable air bladder in the lumbar for the pilot (standard) | available as an option |
lower faring on the LXE | no lower faring |
cables holding the side bag lids (except earlier models) | cables holding the side bag lids (except earlier models) |
cornering lamps | no cornering lamps |
passenger speaker fader control | no passenger speaker fader control |
passenger speakers under headrest, on top of passenger seatback | no passenger speakers |
If you compare your LX model to the above, you may find that you have some features that are listed for the LXE. Keep in mind that everything that was standard equipment for the LXE was available for the LX model.
There was still yet another model of Cavalcade, the GT. This model was a “bare bones” version of the Cavalcade.
There were no lowers, no cornering lights, no lumbar supports, not even a radio. In the false tank, where the radio normally is, there’s a storage compartment.
This was still a great touring bike, but without the frills.
A good friend of this site, Paul Gruhn, had a Website dedicated to the Suzuki Cavalcade. Paul is going to dismantle his site, but offered the following information and graphics. No changes have been made to Paul’s work (except for sizing, to make this page load faster). Thank you, Paul for allowing us to remove the following information from your site:
